The Sycamore vacant lot needs a skate park - Aarti's neighborhood project
A community-led a skate park at the Sycamore vacant lot that will serve 313 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 313 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $440
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $80

Updates from Aarti
Good news. Because of your gifts ($269 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Small update. $264 so far, I made the first payment toward materials.
18% there. I made the first payment toward permits and inspections. Thank you.
