Montréal
My family left Sudan 13 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Montréal. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in October. I was an engineer in Sudan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. Funds are managed by the Montréal Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf. Where the $1,950 goes: • Winter clothing and school supplies: $530 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $260 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,160 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
