For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 97 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Permits and inspections: $80 • Materials: $370 • Tools hire and delivery: $100 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
