For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 203 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
