The Freedom health centre yard needs a youth football pitch - Garba's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Enugu are raising $600 for a youth football pitch at the Freedom health centre yard.
🇳🇬 Enugu, Nigeria1,368 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $150, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 286 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $500
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
Thanks for reading all this.
