The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on June unless I pay $850. I have never been late before April's medical emergency. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $105 first, which I don't have. I live with a disabled brother, and going through summer without electricity and water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $850 goes: • Utility arrears: $510 • Reconnection and late fees: $145 • Down payment on a payment plan: $195 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
