I'm caring for my father, who's 89. After a diagnosis of dementia Taner can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Taner desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Taner worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $1,300
• Medication and prescriptions: $110
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $90
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $100
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($375 in total) I made the first payment toward hospital bed and mattress rental. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
