Citlali was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in January. The surgeon at Cincinnati University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,600 short.
my mother has been in and out of Cincinnati University Hospital since January. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Citlali struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Citlali won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
