Clément, my brother, passed away on 7 August after a stroke. He was 83 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,350 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 24 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Clément to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,700
• Memorial gathering for the family: $195
• Transport of the deceased: $455
