Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Zaid's family in Casablanca
A car accident left Zaid short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇲🇦 Casablanca, Casablanca-Settat, Morocco1,769 views
After a car accident that kept me from work for 6 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $900.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $900 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $670
• Late fees and court costs: $60
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• First month of rent as a buffer: $140
Glad we found this place.

Wanted to say thank you properly. 20% funded and I made the first payment toward first month of rent as a buffer.
