Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Valentin's family in Marseille
A sudden layoff left Valentin short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.

When my hours were cut in half in July, Valentin fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,750.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Valentin has started working night deliveries, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $1,600
• Late fees and court costs: $130
• Utilities in arrears: $240
• First month of rent as a buffer: $780
