Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Lawrence's family in Pittsburgh
A car accident left Lawrence short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.
🇺🇸 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States3,067 views
After a car accident that kept me from work for 7 weeks, Lawrence fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Friday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $1,450.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Lawrence has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $870
• Late fees and court costs: $320
• Utilities in arrears: $260
Thank you so much.

hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Santos so I could bring a meal.
Thanks for sharing this, Russell. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Thinking of Pittsburgh.
Best of luck, Russell. Shared it with a few friends. After 30 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
Stay strong, Russell. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
So sorry you're going through this, Russell. Hope you get there. My neighbor in Valencia donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Pittsburgh.
