Aylin was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in December. The surgeon at Berlin Orthopedic Institute recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,300 short.
my wife has been in and out of Berlin Orthopedic Institute since December. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Aylin struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Aylin won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
