Start-up fund for Pankaj: reopening a phone repair counter after a long illness and repossession

Pankaj has run a phone repair counter for three years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $600 will put it back on its feet.

Surat
For three years I have run a phone repair counter in Surat. In September, a long illness and repossession took a soldering station and testing tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $600 goes: • Replacing a soldering station and testing tools: $320 • Initial stock: replacement parts: $80 • Shop repairs and licensing: $105 • Working capital for the first month: $95 With deep gratitude, Pankaj

Updates from Pankaj

  1. Small update. $190 so far, I made the first payment toward working capital for the first month.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 14% now ($85). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward initial stock: replacement parts.
