Plant 1,850 native trees around the Baobab riverbank in São Paulo
Volunteers are restoring the Baobab riverbank in São Paulo; $450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Baobab riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 39 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 99 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $450 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $150
• Signage and educational materials: $30
• Waste removal and skip hire: $270
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Good luck, Edilene. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier
is there anything that isn't money that would help Edilene?
Thank you. If you're in São Paulo I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. It helps to be asked.
