My food truck: Lungile's only way to earn a living
Lungile drives for a living in Cape Town, and a broken radiator and cooling system has stopped all income for 10 weeks.
🇿🇦 Western Cape, South Africa354 views
I make my living with my food truck. 10 weeks ago the radiator and cooling system failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $450. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $450 goes:
• radiator and cooling system replacement (parts): $330
• Labor charges: $65
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $45
• Towing and inspection: $10
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lungile

so sorry you're going through this, Lungile. Hope you make a strong comeback. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.
