In March I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. My oncology team at Quezon City University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in May. I was told to expect about 4 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 25, I worked as a construction supervisor until March, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Quezon City University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $400 goes: • Scans and lab work: $145 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $120 • Transport to Quezon City University Hospital: $135 Every share and every dollar helps. - Nicole

Thank you. If you're in Quezon City I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. It helps to be asked.

Best of luck, Nicole. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.

      • stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from La Plata.

        • Sending good thoughts. I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Zaporizhzhia but we're thinking of you. All the best.

          • Hope things get better soon, Nicole. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
