Lagos
Festus was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July. The oncology team at Lagos University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Festus is 40, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $800 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $440 • Transport to Lagos University Hospital: $105 • Household costs while unable to work: $255 If you're reading this, thank you.

Updates from Obiageli

  1. Update from Lagos: I made the first payment toward household costs while unable to work. We're at 70% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($200 in total) I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Festus

      • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($440) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
