Standing with Aurora: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
Aurora is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Aurora was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in January. The oncology team at the San Francisco Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Aurora is 47, worked as a taxi driver until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the San Francisco Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $8,900 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,600
• Scans and lab work: $1,600
• Transport to the San Francisco Oncology Institute: $550
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $950
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,200
