Rose and twin daughters need a bridge to stability after a house fire.

Last August I went through a house fire, and I'm now raising twin daughters on my own. I work as a retail cashier, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries. I'm retraining as a web developer in the evenings, which will triple my income by October, but I need to bridge the gap until then. Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them. Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward. Money goes toward rent, groceries, after-school care and the cost of my course. I'll give a monthly update with receipts. Where the $700 goes: • Groceries and school meals: $95 • Rent top-up: $380 • Childcare and after-school care: $225 Thanks for being kind about this. - Rose

Updates from Rose

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($194 in total) I made the first payment toward groceries and school meals. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Update from Makati: we've started the first stage. We're at 17% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($69). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the landlord and confirmed the amounts.

  • Wishing you the best. Shared this with my family. After 8 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

    • Keep going, Rose. I hope things turn around soon. I hope October is when things finally get easier

      • So sorry you're going through this. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care

Best of luck, Rose. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Makati!

          • Hope it all works out, Rose. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Greetings from Saket.
