Rebuilding after the storm: Marketplace village needs your help
The storm damaged 69 homes in Marketplace village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The storm hit Marketplace village on 9 June. My home was one of 69 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $7,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,200
• Clean water and purification supplies: $590
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $810
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,400
• Tools and labor for repairs: $2,050
Every share and every dollar helps.

Best of luck, Elke. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Berlin.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Wish I lived closer to Aurangabad so I could bring a meal. Love from Raleigh.
Thinking of you. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless
