Start-up fund for Mwangi: reopening a flower stall after a long illness and repossession
A flower stall in Arusha needs help replacing display cabinets and a cooler after a long illness and repossession.
🇹🇿 Arusha, Tanzania428 views
For nine years I have run a flower stall in Arusha. In November, a long illness and repossession took display cabinets and a cooler. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $600 goes:
• Replacing display cabinets and a cooler: $350
• Initial stock: seasonal flowers: $100
• Shop repairs and licensing: $80
• Working capital for the first month: $70
I hope life is good to you.

Sending strength. Hope you make a strong comeback. I hope February is when things finally get easier. Love from Mthatha.
Thinking of you, Mwangi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Pune.
