Help Richard keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Cape Coast.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 369 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 52% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Cape Coast market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $250 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $50
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $115
• Baby formula and diapers: $85

is refrigeration and electricity the biggest cost or is there more coming?
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. refrigeration and electricity is the biggest at $50. I'll keep the page updated.
