The earthquake hit the Greenfield district on 27 August. My home was one of 63 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $350 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $155 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $80 • Clean water and purification supplies: $115 Thanks for being kind about this.

Updates from Waqas

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 41% funded and the plan for bedding, blankets and mattresses is now scheduled.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($105 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Waqas

    • Best of luck, Waqas. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
