Vivian is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an agriculture degree at Los Angeles Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $6,400.
The registrar has said Vivian can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Vivian has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Vivian would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Vivian isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Los Angeles Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.

• Outstanding tuition balance: $3,400
• Final term tuition: $2,550
• Exam and lab fees: $110
• Textbooks and materials: $340

The list at the bottom is the whole picture. outstanding tuition balance is the biggest at $3,400. Good question.
