Plant 4,900 native trees around the Union hillside in Muzaffarpur
Volunteers are restoring the Union hillside in Muzaffarpur; $350 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇮🇳 India926 views
The Union hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 40 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 184 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $175
• Tools and protective gear: $95
• Waste removal and skip hire: $80
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Girish?
Thank you. If you're in Muzaffarpur I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.
praying for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
So sorry you're going through this, Girish. Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update. God bless
