Feed 216 families each week at Community Pantry in Awka
Mercy runs a volunteer pantry feeding 216 families; this fund restocks shelves for the harvest gap.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 216 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Awka market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $150
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $80
• Baby formula and diapers: $65
• Refrigeration and electricity: $5
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless.
it takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in Santos donated after I showed her your page. Take care
Praying for you, Mercy. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
Any update on how things are going in Awka?
Wishing you peace. More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out
Wishing you the best, Mercy. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Greetings from Madurai.
Thanks for sharing this, Mercy. This could happen to any of us.
Sending good thoughts, Mercy. More neighborhoods should do this. After 30 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless
You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
