Need strong backs and a van: moving Leo to safer housing
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Bakersfield.

After a break-in at the old place, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Bakersfield, and the lease starts on Tuesday. I have my elderly father, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for 3-4 helpers for about six hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the third floor with no elevator and the new place has a ground-floor entrance. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

I live about 4 km from Bakersfield. I can help at the weekend, tell me what you need. Flexible on timing.

Best of luck, Leo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 11 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Put this on a community board in São Paulo this morning. Take care.
