Palate reconstruction surgery for Isabelle: covering what insurance won't
After a large ovarian cyst, Isabelle was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Isabelle was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in February. The surgeon at Fresno General Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $14,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $7,150 short.
my sister has been in and out of Fresno General Hospital since February. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $14,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Isabelle struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Isabelle won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,550
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $3,000
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $480
• Post-operative medication: $200
• Physiotherapy sessions: $720
• Travel and lodging for the family: $200
