I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a master's in public health at Edmonton University, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $5,300.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Edmonton University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $5,300 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $3,250
• Final term tuition: $1,450
• Exam and lab fees: $200
• Textbooks and materials: $400

Sure. The biggest one is outstanding tuition balance, $3,250. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
