Dignity in old age: caring for Kiptoo
Kiptoo can't afford the care He needs after a fall and hip fracture; we're asking for $200.

I'm caring for my father, who's 78. After a fall and hip fracture Kiptoo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Kiptoo desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Kiptoo worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $200 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $55
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $110
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $35
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
Updates from Githinji
Small update. $171 so far, the first invoice got paid this week.
Small update. $96 so far, the first invoice got paid this week.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($96 in total) I made the first payment toward hospital bed and mattress rental. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
