My food truck: Rotimi's only way to earn a living
Without my food truck Rotimi can't work; a $200 repair would put him back on the road.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria611 views
I make my living with my food truck. 7 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $200 goes:
• rear axle replacement (parts): $120
• Labor charges: $45
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $30
• Towing and inspection: $5
Thank you for reading my story.
