My food truck: Jumoke's only way to earn a living
Jumoke drives for a living in Nnewi, and a broken clutch assembly has stopped all income for 7 weeks.
🇳🇬 Anambra, Nigeria710 views
I make my living with my food truck. 7 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $205. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $205 goes:
• clutch assembly replacement (parts): $140
• Labor charges: $35
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $25
• Towing and inspection: $5
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
