My delivery van: Kalyani's only way to earn a living
Without my delivery van Kalyani can't work; a $250 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my delivery van. 5 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $250 goes:
• clutch assembly replacement (parts): $135
• Labor charges: $40
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $35
• Towing and inspection: $40
If you're reading this, thank you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kalyani
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. clutch assembly replacement (parts) comes first ($135) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
Sending good thoughts, Kalyani. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Wishing you the best, Kalyani. Shared this with my family
