Mobility fund: pair of hearing aids for Kenji in Kawasaki
Kenji needs a pair of hearing aids that the health system won't fund; the cost is $2,200.
🇯🇵 Japan731 views
Kenji lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Kawasaki Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,200.
His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Kenji could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $115
• First-year servicing plan: $270
• pair of hearing aids: $1,815

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kenji.
Delivery and set-up is $115 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for looking so closely.
Wishing you peace. Looking forward to the next update. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Kawasaki.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Santos this morning. God bless.
Hang in there, Keiko. Your post was clear and honest.
good luck, Keiko. Wishing Kenji a smooth procedure and a full recovery. All the best.
