Help Edilene replace the transmission and return to work
Edilene drives for a living in São Paulo, and a broken transmission has stopped all income for 8 weeks.

I make my living with my taxi. 8 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $550. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $550 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $340
• Labor charges: $60
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $110
• Towing and inspection: $40
Thanks for reading all this.

Keep going, Edilene. Small businesses are the heart of São Paulo. Hope you're open again soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Mumbai.
