Since my partner leaving in January, I'm now raising a teenage son and a daughter in primary school on my own. I work as a hairdresser, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a teaching assistant in the evenings, which will triple my income by March, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $550 goes:
• Childcare and after-school care: $175
• Groceries and school meals: $170
• Course fees and exam costs: $205
Glad we found this place.

Stay strong, Miguel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Juazeiro do Norte.
Take care, Miguel. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Greetings from Bang Khen
Best of luck, Miguel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't give up. Take care
Thinking of you and your family, Miguel. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
You're not alone. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless
