Standing with Waweru: cervical cancer treatment costs
Waweru is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In November I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My oncology team at Kinondoni Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in January. I was told to expect about 6 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 57, I worked as a bakery worker until November, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Kinondoni Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Transport to Kinondoni Regional Medical Center: $55
• Scans and lab work: $100
• Household costs while unable to work: $230
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $965

Sure. The biggest one is transport to Kinondoni Regional Medical Center, $55. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
