Matthew served four years; now needs help to get home
A navy veteran in Sydney needs help with a first month of rent and transport to job interviews after leaving service with a back injury.

I served four years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $5,600.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $5,600 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,400
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,100
• Transport to appointments: $500
• Essential household items: $600
I hope life is good to you.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
