Macharia's final semester of a law degree in Embakasi
Macharia has worked and saved for five years to study a law degree; a $450 gap now stands between him and graduation.
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Kenya1,204 views
Macharia is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a law degree at Embakasi Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Macharia can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Macharia has a first-class average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Macharia would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Macharia isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $450 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $50
• Final term tuition: $340
• Textbooks and materials: $60
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

you're not alone, Auma. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Peshawar this morning.
Sending love. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Please keep us posted. Thinking of Embakasi
Sending love, Auma. Study hard! I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
