Let's build a youth football pitch together in Enugu
Volunteers in Enugu are raising $350 for a youth football pitch at the Liberty vacant lot.
🇳🇬 Nigeria1,621 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $165, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 251 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $280
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Updates from Bolaji
Wanted to say thank you properly. 3% funded and the plan for safety equipment and signage is now scheduled.
Update from Enugu: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 31% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($141 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Thinking of you and your family, Bolaji. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 19 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
