Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Mobile
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $2,750 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,750.
It will serve about 371 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Materials: $2,100
• Tools hire and delivery: $460
• Safety equipment and signage: $190

thanks for sharing this. More neighborhoods should do this. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in London this morning
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Mobile.
