Kaito has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Setagaya Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Kaito can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 24 km each way. Kaito is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. Love from Noida.

    • Wishing Kaito a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Put this on a community board in Hamilton this morning. Thinking of Setagaya.

      • Keep going. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
