Let's build a covered market stall space together in Lexington
Volunteers in Lexington are raising $2,500 for a covered market stall space at the Maple community hall.
🇺🇸 United States217 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,500.
It will serve about 232 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $140
• Materials: $2,070
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
