Rahma was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in January. The surgeon at Sheffield Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,500 short.
my mother has been in and out of Sheffield Orthopedic Institute since January. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rahma struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Rahma won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
