Keep a roof over Crystal's head in Rochester
After a car accident, Crystal is 2 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.
🇺🇸 United States1,106 views
After a sudden layoff at the warehouse, Crystal fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $4,650.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, the family must leave.
There are 4 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Crystal has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $3,250
• Late fees and court costs: $310
• Utilities in arrears: $280
• First month of rent as a buffer: $810
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Eliana
Good news. Because of your gifts ($222 in total) the plan for rent arrears is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. After 28 years in public service I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
You're not alone, Eliana. Hope you get there. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Abuja.
Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Rochester.
