Kajal is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Bengaluru Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $900. The registrar has said Kajal can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Kajal has a 3.9 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Kajal would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Kajal isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $900 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $310 • Final term tuition: $500 • Exam and lab fees: $30 • Textbooks and materials: $60 Thanks for being kind about this. - Sandesh

Updates from Sandesh

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($133 in total) I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Small update. $58 so far, the first invoice got paid this week. - Sandesh
