Irapuato
I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an electrical engineering diploma at Irapuato University, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,000. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Irapuato University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,000 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $40 • Outstanding tuition balance: $540 • Final term tuition: $420 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($205 in total) I made the first payment toward textbooks and materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Update from Irapuato: I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. We're at 21% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us. - Rodrigo

  3. Update from Irapuato: the plan for textbooks and materials is now scheduled. We're at 8% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
