Kai needs a lift to the Atlanta Kidney Centre - can you help one day a week?

A rota of drivers to the Atlanta Kidney Centre would keep Kai on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Kai has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Atlanta Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Kai can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 28 km each way. Kai is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Thinking of you, Deborah. Looking forward to the next update. Don't give up.

    • Hang in there, Deborah. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

      • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Barranquilla so I could bring a meal. Blessings.

        • Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Giza
