Jyoti's final semester of a nursing degree in Durgapur

Jyoti is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a nursing degree at the Durgapur Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850. The registrar has said Jyoti can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Jyoti has a 3.6 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Jyoti would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Jyoti isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Durgapur Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $850 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $410 • Final term tuition: $370 • Exam and lab fees: $35 • Textbooks and materials: $35 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Shivam
